2022 Year in Review (and Whale Pass Invites)
One year ago, GG was just an idea in the making. But now we are a worldwide incorporated entity surrounded by an incredible passionate team! And although our journey is still unfolding, 2023 promises to be an amazing and gay (in all good ways) experience for us all! The best is yet to come - buckle up and let's moon!
However, I don't want to overlook the hurdles we had to overcome to get here, they've made us stronger, but they have also made it abundantly clear that this space desperately needs our queer-inclusive project.
What were your biggest hurdles in 2022?
- Our initial development and marketing agency accepted 9ETH then disappeared, which was a substantial financial hit for us, a self-funded startup.
- We cautiously considered partnering with an affluent investor who declared to be an ally, but our refusal was met with homophobic slurs and threats.
- Our launch was postponed, and we were fearful of disappointing our community.
Although these were difficult (and expensive) lessons to learn, our team was able to grow and improve our internal processes in order to avoid similar risks in the future. We now implement payment terms, video interviews, and contractual agreements as part of standard practice.
And with 2023 just around the corner, we are getting ready to launch in mid February 2023. We've partnered with an extraordinary development team over at sofre.sh labs and they can confidently deliver our unique (and never before seen) drip-drop launch mechanics...
What will your launch look like?
We will be releasing one single collection over the span of 10 drops. As we traverse the Super Gay Galaxy and meet its fabulous inhabitants, a portion of NFTs will be dropped at each planet (~1K) until all have been uncovered (~10K).
What are whale passes?
To optimize this fiscal year, we have decided to offer a unique pass (invite only) to our most loyal community members - the people who have supported our team and our mission from day 1.
Only 50 Whale Passes (1ETH) will ever exist, and any that are not sold will be destroyed.
1ETH is a large commitment, but if you've been following our journey you know we've been working tirelessly to build a global brand where NFTs are only one of the multiple facets of revenue stream and project growth. Our team has personally invested over 50K out of pocket, so you know we are here to stay.
What does a whale pass get me?
The whale pass will entitle the holding wallet to 10x NFTs (one from each planet) and 1x NFT that will be part of the main collection and will only be given to holders of the pass. In addition, you will gain access to a private look at upcoming events, have the opportunity to test out merchandise before anyone else, as well as other perks.
