Our Team. Our Why.

Our why is straightforward - everyone should feel represented in the Metaverse.

As LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, we want to promote greater acceptance in the Metaverse. It's our goal to establish a safe Web3 haven where gender, sexuality, and diversity are acknowledged and celebrated.

Yes, we are real people. Yes this is a real project.

The only rugs here are the ones that match, or sometimes don't match (no judgement) the drapes.

Our team has grown over the past year and we had the opportunity to all meet at NFT NYC for the first time in person. It was amazing to be able to represent our project and everything we stand for in bringing diversity and inclusion to Web3. If you were there and you saw fabulous drag queen (Cherry Poppins) walking around, that was us.

Our project was greeted with so much enthusiasm and love and we truly believe that our project will make a positive difference in the NFT space.

NFT NYC opened our eyes to everything people loved about Galactic Gaylords and also some areas we can improve upon. It would have been foolish for us to not act upon the amazing suggestions from allies who were feeling like they might not "be allowed" to be part of our "exclusive LGBTQIA+" project.

This was a problem. So we postponed our launch and fixed it. We have introduced more inclusive art and messaging to better align with our mission of being a safe space for everyone.

We have some awesome team bio videos below, watch them and let us prove to you how authentic our team is and how serious we are about growing Galactic Gaylords into the the premiere rainbow-chip project on the blockchain.

OUR STORIES
DADDY FOUNDER
AUSTIN PLEASE

I'm Austin, but you can call me Daddy. I am one of the founders here at Galactic Gaylords and the visionary behind the project.

When I first got into the NFT space, I have to admit, I was skeptical. But the more I delved into it, the more I saw its potential to revolutionize not just art, but also community. What I loved most was connecting with people and communities who shared my interests. So when I stumbled upon a Dad-driven NFT project, I quickly made some amazing friendships which was especially powerful for me as I had just become a father.

After that, I was hooked, and I was desperate for a community that spoke towards my queer identity, but I couldn't find one. What I did find, was a severe lack of diversity and inclusion.

I'm someone who personally connects with the NFTs I own, so this was a problem.

That's where the idea of Galactic Gaylords was born. My vision was to bring together diverse individuals in Web3 and create a safe space for us all to come together, share our experiences, learn from each other, and make lasting connections. As we continue to grow into a thriving community, I am excited for what the future holds for Galactic Gaylords and the NFT space as a whole.

A little bit more about me, I'm a gay dad blogger, a happy husband, and recently my own boss. I own and operate my own ecommerce business and I'm a registered inventor with a patent to my name. Before that, I was a mechanical engineer for nine years. But now, I'm all in on Web3 and not looking back.

I’m still striving to grow a mustache to achieve ultimate dadness and I believe in giving more than we take and being optimistic about the future.

ARTIST FOUNDER
JF LAROUCHE

Bonjour! I'm JF, the other founder of Galactic Gaylords and the creative directors and lead artist for the project.

I'm the creative director at Moment Factory, Canada's most renowned, and one of the world’s leading multimedia production companies. We specializes in immersive environment development and creation. Think BAYC parties, that's what we do.

Moment Factory has collaborated with some of the most famous musicians (Nine Inch Nail, Muse, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish & Madonna), and i'm excited to bring these highly refined skills to Web3.

I lead several highly prominent interactive art projects that are beginning to connect the gap between real and digital. Every day, I work with a team of developers communicating technical limitations while also pushing the artistic envelope.

All that aside, what matters the most to me is that I'm a queer artist, and It’s always been important to me to represent my connection to the queer community through my art.

COMMUNITY MANAGER
ISAAC DAYLEY

Hello! I'm Isaac Dayley, and I'm the Community Manager of Galactic Gaylords.

I found NFTs through the crypto space, and it was there that I discovered the community I want to be a part of. Working in finance, I wanted to understand digital assets—and it was there that I stumbled upon an authentic community for me to connect with others. Web3 caught me by surprise, and I immediately saw its potential to bring more people together in a more authentic way, and give them more support.

The more I interacted with genuine people in the space, the more it felt like they were meant to be here—and once I met Austin and started spending more time with Galactic Gaylords, it was clear this would be my home base in Web3.

I'm so grateful for what we are building here at Galactic Gaylords—and for those genuine relationships being built between all of us!

My professional background is fairly diverse, ranging from finance to theatre production & event direction. For the past 8 years, though, I have owned my own financial planning practice—and now my passion for helping others is translating into my new role here at Galactic Gaylords!

STORY MASTER
TERESA LOTZ

Teresa (aka TsaBug) is the head writer on the Galactic Gaylords team.

I’m an award-winning playwright and composer, and I’m super excited to transition those skills into this new and exciting Web3 space. Plus - gay superheroes in space?? That’s the dream.

I consider myself a loud-ass queer – telling stories about LGBTQIA+ characters, creating as many opportunities as possible for fellow queer artists, and taking every opportunity I can to throw rainbows and glitter off my rooftop.

My wife and I live in NYC with two black kitties, surrounded by crystals, incense smoke, and all the original art we can fit into our apartment. I love my chosen family, making cocktails, spooky videos, and cheese.

Teresa Lotz (she/they) is an award-winning playwright and composer-lyricist. Her work includes She Calls Me Firefly (2019 New York Innovative Theater Award Winner Best Original Short Script); Akira & The Merpeople (Polyphone Festival 2020, THEatre ACCelerator 2019); Red Emma & the Mad Monk (NY Times Critic’s Pick, 6 NYIT Nominations, LadyFest 2018, Ars Nova ANT Fest 2017); ThreeTimesFast (Florida Festival of New Musicals 2019, O'Neill Theater Festival Semi-Finalist, NYFA New Works Series 2016); Anna Karenina: a riff (World Premiere, The Flea, dir.
